In
my view, it is time for television news to report and repeat noble solutions,
not just debilitating problems. It is time to report and tell stories of
opportunities, not just obstacles.
There
has always been confusion between information, news and story. A story contains the essence of the spirit of
an individual or group or community or project or hope or event or action.
We
need more real story on television, to balance the fictional dramas and sitcoms
or the pandering content of some networks that influence us each television
day.
True
story of growth and positive action allows for transformation. We need to ask ourselves each day, each
night, and with each item we choose to watch or tell, does this information
help transform and if it doesn't, maybe it’s gossip.
