The Swamp?

I’ve tried. Oh, how I’ve tried to be positive about a Trump Presidency, but, but, but…

He’s not draining the swamp; he’s filling it with critters who don’t belong there.

It’s the fox and hen-house syndrome.

What about the campaign promises he made to those who tossed the political bath-water along with the proverbial baby? Having all hawks in the cabinet leaves no room for doves. Putting Rick Perry in charge of the Energy Department is like putting a faith healer in charge of the Mayo Clinic. My apologies to faith healers. I mean no disrespect.

My Ostridge friends, when you shake the sand out of your ears, pray that wisdom enters.

OK, now that I’ve got that off my mind, I’m “gonna” try to be positive again. Really!

The Russian Question

I have a question.

If we had the ability ( and we probably do) to influence the selection of a new premier, president, leader, or dictator of Russia would not we try to do it? If we thought it might benefit relationships, both economic and strategic, in the future. Of course we would.

Why is it such a surprise that we think Russia tried to influence our election?

Walks with an old friend

To walk with an old friend is one of the greatest pleasures of life. Sometimes we walk in silence, where nothing is said, and everything is, sometimes we walk in full conversation, and sometimes we share the pain of life, and we walk in empathy.

I’ve had the pleasure of walking with this old friend many times. Sometimes we talk about current conditions and political choices. Sometimes we recall a shared memory with laughter or with the understanding of loss. Sometimes we stop and wonder at the grace and lessons of nature.

All of our walks have been with respect and appreciation for the other. All of our walks are built upon the foundational walks of the past so that when we pass to the other side, our walks will continue in the realms of light and wonder. I am a fortunate man to have such a friend.

False advertising and malicious suggestions

In one Dodge commercial, it’s raining and you have two cars racing. In another, it’s two more cars each with a Christmas tree on top drag racing from one stop light to another and all the needles of the trees blow off to show off the power to the vehicle.

What kind of lesson does than send to our youthful drivers?

I find it offensive, counter-safety, and I would not buy a Dodge vehicle because of it.

Just saying and just asking.
