The setting sun and falling leaves
Create the Midas scene of fall.
It’s God’s reminder we shall receive
Eternal life, a gift to all.
Each leaf that falls is like our soul;
The form discarded, needed not;
Despite detachment, spirit's whole
It matters not that we forgot.
So in the season’s change is truth
The color is the mark of grace.
It’s there to see. It is a proof
That trust is what we should embrace.
