The Saudi Ban on Women Drivers

Wow, Saudi Arabia, not necessarily known for its research in the psychological fields has come up with a scientific reason on why there is a ban on Saudi women driving.

Cleric Sheikh Saleh al-Lehaydan, a judicial and psychological consultant to the Gulf Psychological Association calls it a scientific fact.

He suggests that driving, just for the sake of driving, affects a woman’s physiology negatively. The issue has been studied, he says, and driving affects the ovaries and the result is that their children are born with varying degrees of clinical dysfunction.

Excuse me, but what century are we in?
