Congratulations and accolades to the British Parliament on
their decision to not support an allied coalition to strike Syria for Assad’s
alleged use of chemical weapons against his own people.
Bravo to President Obama for seeking congressional approval
for a punishing airstrike against Syria in a righteous indignation over the use
of chemical weapons.
A double shame on Syrian President Assad for baiting the
United States and France in an arrogant denial and bravado and warning of what
will happen in the Middle East if an airstrike eventually takes place.
Mr. Assad is just one of the latest global tyrants in a long
list of cruel despots that include Hitler, Adi Amin, Pol Pot, Papa Doc and Baby
Doc Duvalier, Pinochet, Stalin, Kim Jong Il, Kim Jong-Un, just to name a few. In
the long run they all sow what they reap.
Let us continue to pray for a lasting peace in the little
hearts of humankind.
