Contentious Happenings

Have you noticed lately that everything seems more contentious?

It’s not only globally what with Putin’s pressure in the Ukraine, Israel’s attack on Syria in retaliation, and the Sunni ICIS assault in Iraq, but the strains of didactic absolutes are also present in State and local issues and even in corporate litigations.

Opinions seem to have hardened into a form that precludes compromise. Just look at Congress for the last few years.

I see these absolutes even among regional neighbors where a few years ago issues would have been given no more than a shrug. Now it’s battle plans or law suites.

I wonder if these global and local conditions are part of what some people call the new age paradigm shift for a millennia of peace to surface.

Those of us who truly want a lasting tranquility need to hold that vision and know, not just believe, but know, that it is happening. We need to resist the old ways of righting a perceived wrong. We need to see the other as self and the whole of humanity as one in the loving eyes of the creator.

I know, I know, what have I been smoking? But, you know, we’ve got to start somewhere.
