The election is over. It's been almost a week since so few voted in
the midterm elections.
Political left-over campaign signs are everywhere in my area. Where
are the volunteers that put them out to pick them up? It seems to me that the
candidates who won and those who lost should require their supporters to pick
up the political trash left behind.
In many ways the poster detritus is indicative of many politician
promises. Empty words pollute the electorate mind with false
hopes and then leave the expectations on the side of the promise road.
Do I sound a little callous? Granted. I am still hoping for a return
to the old days when Democrats and Republicans were civil to each other. They
socialized. They ate and drank together and then argued politically. They found
ways to compromise for the greater good.
Anyway, please pick up your damn signs.
