My post this morning is to suggest you read a column by Eric
Stern that was published on Salon.com a couple of weeks ago.
It’s about another Fox News distortion. Some of my friends
and some relatives rely on Fox news for most of their information about the
major issues facing America today.
I think that’s a mistake for Fox and a number of other
alleged news opinionators are blatantly distorting information by claiming its
news and then slanting their bias with partisan commission and omission.
If the American citizenry wants to be truly informed each of
us must read numerous papers, columns, and articles. We must watch more than
just one television news outlet and listen to more than just our favorite talk
radio ramblings.
It seems to be that if something is said often enough, even
though it’s not true, people will begin to believe it. It is a flaw in our
human nature.
I wish I could repost the Salon.com column here, but I’m
prohibited from doing so because of its copyright.
