Take first the black from ebon night

and add the dark of eyeless sight.

Create a canvas of your mind,

then paint upon this lightless find.

Some only see the dun of dark,

others know what black can spark,

For in the ink of soot abyss

is all the brighten sheen of bliss.

Extract the color from this face

to see the beauty in that place.

Kind thoughts of red and service blue

bring from the black its color true.

Add loving hues in layered stroke

and watch the darkness shed its cloak.

If thoughts are colors made of light

and flare from spirit’s aura bright,

Then think the rainbow that you are

and know your soul as avatar.
