There are too many examples of continuing prejudice in
America.
Some of the examples are political and partisan and some are
specifically based on the attitude and greed of the haves to the have-nots.
Some prejudices are fear based in both the mercantile and
social exchanges between whites, blacks, Hispanics and Native Americans.
Some other prejudices are religious. Overt prejudice against
Jews, Muslims, Catholics or any minority that is culturally or ethnically
different is always misdirected and based on ignorance and the illusion of
divine guidance.
In Ferguson, Missouri recently, and as in the past there and
elsewhere, we’ve seen prejudice that is tragic and prejudice that is
anarchical.
ALL prejudice is wrong. Destroying civic and business
properties does not adjudicate a perceived injustice; it only confuses justice
with vengeance.
Each of us, whether white, black, or every color in-between, and every
belief modality need to look within before we harm, blame, point, yell or burn.
