This old world continues to be assaulted by the little minds
of man.
Syria’s beleaguered President Bashar al-Assad may be
thinking of using chemical weapons upon his people. Evidence of chemical weapon
movement has been detected. President Obama warned Assad that the world is
watching and he would be held accountable.
I’m not sure why we, the civilized world, even allow the
situation to get to this point where the desperation of those in waning power
think the widespread killing power of chemicals or advanced and superior
weapons will sustain their rule.
Then there is the dichotomy of killing and the proverbial question. Why is it OK to kill
with bullets and bombs, but chemical kills engender all kinds of warnings?
I am disposed to support Israel, but I am also critical of
its two recent Israeli strategic decisions; more settlements on the West Bank and
withholding tax revenues destined for the Palestinian Authority. Israel is
pee-ode at the United Nations for approving Palestine to an observer state
status.
House Speaker John Boehner continues his obstinacy to
compromise so does President Obama. When will both sides cease the brinkmanship
and make a deal? Get it done Washington or get out of office. This Congress is a
blot on governmental history.
The Huffington Post’s United Kingdom edition has reported
the Bristol University’s Christian Union, a Christian society, bans women from
speaking at meetings unless their husbands are present. It’s not new.
Apparently the rule has been in existence for several years, but has recently
emerged.
Good grief folks, we are in the 21st century. It’s
bad enough in Saudi Arabia, but not in England.
