The Heart Within

My mind is sad by what I read

Within the papers and online.

There’re hurts and fights and altered seed

Where systems fail and all’s entwined.

There’re shouts and threats and curses too

Along with tears and other’s pain.

There’re legal things, some false, some true

That makes some wrongs and laws remain.

But deep within I know its right.

I know this is the way things are

Until we each embrace the light

And see that love’s the avatar.

To always see when eyes are blind

First look within your searching heart,

But not from where it’s tied to mind

But where it’s open and apart.

Once there you’ll find your scroll of soul

And too your light that shines within.

It’s there your spirit is now whole

And you’ll come back time and again.
