While we await the appearance of spring in the Northeast, I might as well focus on some other issues that have presented themselves in the last few weeks.
Did you read that in a Nasa-funded study: industrial civilization is headed for an irreversible collapse?
At some point in the future humankind is doomed. We are up the proverbial residue waterway without a paddle.
I do know that this planet has limited resources and we in the West use more and waste more than anyone else. And when the resources are depleted NASA says collapse is imminent. I also believe that the vast intellect of mankind will find, develop, conjure or create the substances we need to fill our needs.
Pollyanna! Maybe, but not absolute. We have to bring in the most powerful aspect of the human condition. Our spirit, and our ability to create, adapt and survive.
I cannot accept that the Creator of All That Is, would condition the demise of humankind because of limited resources or the misuse thereof that could sustain an increasing population of over seven billion and not provide the creation of substitutes or at least a no need for them. I'm sure there will be consequence of our choices, but not the eradication of civilization.
In spiritual omniscience it doesn't make any sense or we shouldn't worry about it in the first place because our true reality is elsewhere, not here. But, we don't have total omniscience, so I guess humanity is going to have to go back to the old method of trust, faith, and the, so hard to accept, unconditional love that we profess to believe our creator has for us.
Seems to be that either way we have nothing to lose accept the illusion of material life.
