On one of my recent kayak excursions I photographed the
picture you see above.
I was taken by the instinct of this tree plant to survive
and express the beauty inherent within itself under very difficult
circumstances. To me it is a lesson for our species.
Many people have a difficult life or for a period are thrust
into difficulty with no time to expose or blossom the beauty within them. Their
innate considerations of inner beauty may never breach an exterior pain and
that is sad for we are creative beings.
Sometimes a crisis is the catalyst for grace to emerge. It
happens in foxholes and in boardrooms. The acknowledgement that you and the
other are one and the emotion of empathy seem to be the motivators.
The beauty within people is often expressed through art and
artists of all kinds; in some people it is a developed talent and in others it is a natural gift. Beauty can also be
expressed through generosity, courtesy, kindness and grace. These considerations
often couple with acts of selfless giving and sacrifice.
Beauty does not need
an audience to be evident. It only needs to be expressed. The joy of beauty
within each of us cannot be contained it must explode into a harmony of
expression.
The above photo is only one example of extreme beauty.
Here is another in nature. It is a petunia plant thriving
and expressing itself in the dirt of a busy doorway sill.
Nature provides simple and magnificent lessons for us to be
the divine within us no matter what the circumstances, all we have to do is see it and then be it.
