We often use the word integrity referring to this or that in
the understanding of another’s persona, demeanor, and deportment in both the
public and private arenas of life.
Integrity has a lot of brother and sister words: character,
decency, goodness, honesty, morality, probity, rectitude, righteousness,
rightness, uprightness, virtue, and virtuousness. The word parents of
integrity, truth and honor, were busy in their procreation of a noble family.
These words are phenomenal and powerful verbal connections. Often times men and women in life, who
exhibit or even claim integrity, miss the familial connection of the rest of
the verbal family and lack some of the qualities needed for the fulfillment of
having true integrity.
For example, integrity without virtue is a weakness of
spirit. Integrity without decency is a weakness of the mind. Integrity without morality is a weakness of the body.
Integrity is not only an essential quality for all of us to
embrace as a personal ethic. It is especially important for the youth of the
planet to personally experience its euphoria and it is essential for the global
elders who seek to lead and legislate via the dictums of now as we all rush
into the future.
